Taylor Swift Dishes On Her Obsession With Bad Boys: “If Someone Seems Shady, I Find Them Interesting”
Taylor Swift may go green on the cover of InStyle magazine‘s November 2013 issue. But the singer’s romantic life isn’t one that would cause young girls to be green with envy. The 23-year-old country superstar may just be unlucky in love because of her penchant for bad boys.
“My friends tease me about the fact that if someone seems bad or shady or like they have a secret, I find them incredibly interesting,” says Taylor, who has dated notorious bad boy John Mayer, Taylor Lautner, Harry Styles, Zac Efron, and Conor Kennedy, just to name a few. “That’s just a phase I’ve been in lately. I don’t think this should be how I proceed in life. It’s important to be self-aware about these things because you don’t want to end up with that guy.”
And while Taylor has dated a lot of A-list celebrities in the past, the singer denies rumors that she is seeing her current tour mate Ed Sheeran. “Ed and I are such good friends,” she says. “I have never had such a close guy friend before. It’s always kind of creepy because with a guy friend-girl friend situation, it usually feels like one person always wants more. That’s not the case here. If [a guy] wants to be friends with me, just know people are going to say we’re dating.”
Until she finds Mr. Right, Taylor is working on being happy for those in successful relationships around her. “I feel jealousy, but I’ve been trying to channel it into mutual admiration and inspiration,” Taylor confesses. “If someone has a really great boyfriend or career, I think, it’s cool that happens. Now I have proof it can happen. Maybe that’s out there for me someday.”
