Which NFL Team Has Disappointed You The Most So Far This Season?

The first quarter of the 2013-14 NFL season has been, in a word, crazy. A bunch of teams that we thought were going to be good have stunk. A bunch of teams that we thought were going to be terrible have put together great starts. And the NFL Playoffs are shaping up to be the most interesting playoffs in years, assuming things continue to go the way they’re going right now.

All of this craziness has left more than a few NFL fans out there shaking their heads in disappointment, though. It wasn’t supposed to be like this for their teams this season. But which of those teams has been the most disappointing? We put together a case for these five teams:

Pittsburgh Steelers (0-4)

Steelers fans probably didn’t expect half their team to get injured in the first week or two of the season. They also probably didn’t expect their offense to look as bad as it has so far this season. But that’s how things have gone for the Steelers. Do we expect it to continue? No. And we wouldn’t be surprised to see the Steelers beat the New York Jets today. But we highly doubt the Steelers are going to rebound and make a serious push to make the playoffs.

Minnesota Vikings (1-3)

Last season, the Vikings surprised, well, everyone—including their own fan base!—by making a run to the playoffs, thanks to a great season from running back Adrian Peterson. But they’ve struggled to string together wins this season because of their putrid defense and their inconsistent quarterback play. And we don’t see that coming to an end anytime soon.

Atlanta Falcons (1-4)

This was supposed to be the year that tight end Tony Gonzalez finally made it to the Super Bowl. But as of right now, it doesn’t look like he’ll even make it back to the playoffs. Barring some sort of miracle, the Falcons are going to go down in flames now that their star wide receiver Julio Jones was placed on IR with a foot injury. And Gonzalez will, sadly, not be making his long-awaited trip to the big game.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-4)

No one expected the Bucs to go to the Super Bowl this season. But they did expect Tampa to be competitive and fight for the right to go to the playoffs. Instead, they just released their opening game starting quarterback Josh Freeman, and their team has struggled to pull out several winnable games this season. You can’t help but wonder what else will go wrong for the Bucs.

New York Giants (0-6)

A lot of people thought the Giants were going to win the NFC East this season. Now, their fans would settle for just one win! Seriously, guys. What’s going on with your team?! Disappointing doesn’t even begin to describe your season so far.
