What Will The New iPad Have On Oct. 22?
Apple just sent out invitations to an event in San Francisco. Just weeks after introducing the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, the company is expected to unveil the latest generation of both the iPad and the iPad mini.
“We still have a lot to cover,” read the invitations to the event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
The fifth generation iPad is rumored to be thinner and lighter with a better camera, while the second generation iPad mini will likely have Apple’s retina display. Both will reportedly run on a new 64-bit A7 chip, and either might have the fingerprint scanners featured in the latest iPhones.
Neither is expected to have the kind of total overhaul seen in iOS 7, or the radical design change given the plastic iPhone 5C.
The last iPads were unveiled about this time last year. USA Today reports that “Apple has been under pressure from investors to release new gadgets to prop up its sagging growth rate.”
(If recent developments are any indication, Apple should just unveil new iPads in plastic and Champagne.)
