Mariah Carey Debuts Holiday OPI Collection With 18 Limited-Edition Nail Polishes
All Mariah Carey wants for Christmas is for you to jingle bell rock in one of her new limited-edition nail polishes by OPI. The international Grammy Award-winning superstar teamed up with OPI to create the “Mariah Carey Holiday,” featuring 18 nail lacquers inspired by Mariah’s chart-topping album Merry Christmas.
“Mariah Carey is truly synonymous with the holiday season,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director, in an official press release. “People around the world listen to her festive, iconic songs—‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ is a personal favorite—and these 18 lacquers evoke the warmth, beauty, energy, and positive spirit that’s present in Mariah’s music.”
With that in mind, MC’s nail polishes will be named after her top Christmas hits, including “Baby Please Come Home,” “Visions of Love,” “Emotions,” “Kiss Me At Midnight,” and “Underneath The Mistletoe.” Also keeping with the Christmas theme, Carey’s limited-edition nail collection includes an assortment of red, burgundy, maroon and chocolate brown hues, along with glitter-packed gold, bronze, and pearl shades perfect for the winter season.
“This holiday season is all about red, glitter, and texture for nails,” adds Weiss-Fischmann. “With 18 shades, there’s a perfect hue for every occasion. The 12 crème and glitter lacquers include classic reds, champagne gold, and warm burgundies, while the six Liquid Sand shades should be worn without top coat for a matte finish in icy, frosted colors. She was very much part of the color selection…She’s classic, but she can be edgy at certain times. She’s very elegant…It appeals to me also that she’s a mom. She’s a working woman and then she has this very glitzy, glamour side to her.”
Mariah Carey Holiday will cost $9 a bottle at Professional Salons, including Walgreens, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, jcp Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, ULTA, and ulta.com. Check out the entire collection below. Which one is your favorite?
