A Police Officer Got Caught Stealing Sneakers During A Drug Raid In Texas Recently

There are a lot of people out there who are willing to do anything—and we do mean anything—in order to get their hands on their favorite sneakers. They will camp out for a week, spend their life savings, and fight the guy in front of them in line for a chance at scoring a pair of limited-edition sneakers. In the past, we’ve seen it result in serious injury and, in some cases, even death. And quite frankly, it has gotten a bit out of hand. THEY’RE JUST SNEAKERS, PEOPLE! RELAX!

This next story about sneakers is one of the most ridiculous ones we have ever heard, though. According to multiple reports, a police officer in Fort Worth, Texas was caught stealing sneakers from a suspected drug house during a raid recently. The officer in question, who has been identified as Sgt. Antoine Williams, allegedly stole four pairs of sneakers during the raid and took them home with him. He was busted a short time later after a special investigations team questioned him and a couple of other officers who were a part of the raid. They reportedly found the missing sneakers at Williams’ home and placed him under arrest. How crazy is that?

As of right now, Williams has not been charged with a crime yet. But if you can’t trust cops around your sneakers, who can you trust? This is just one more indication of just how out of hand the sneaker game has gotten in recent years. We’ve all for people doing whatever they can do in order to get their hands on exclusive sneakers. But they shouldn’t resort to doing things like Sgt. Williams allegedly just did in order to get sneakers. Cops are supposed to serve and protect their communities, not try and get their hands on sneakers during drug raids. So we wouldn’t be surprised at all to hear about Sgt. Williams getting fired sometime in the near future.

What do you think about this story? Do you think it was an isolated incident—or do you think that there are far too many people like Sgt. Williams out there who cross the line in order to get their hands on sneakers?
