This next piece of gossip may not be scandalous, but it’s plenty juicy.

Kerry Washington is pregnant! The 36-year-old actress first shocked her fans when she married NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha in a secret ceremony (few knew they were even dating) this past summer on June 24 in Hailey, Idaho. Now just a few short months later, the star of the hit ABC television series Scandal and her San Francisco 49ers cornerback beau are expecting their first child together.

“She’s about four months along,” a friend of the mommy-to-be exclusively told Us Weekly .

Washington’s secretive ways should come as no surprise. In the October 2013 issue of Glamour, Kerry dished on why she prefers to keep her private life hidden from the public eye. “I learned through experience that it doesn’t work for me to talk about my personal life,” Washington said. “I’ve had earlier times in my career when I did talk about it. I was on the cover of a bridal magazine. But I couldn’t just turn around and say, ‘I only want to talk about the good stuff, but not the bad stuff.’ So I just thought, ‘OK, no more.’”

She continued, “I’m walking around in the world with my ring. And when people say ‘congratulations,’ I say ‘thank you,’” she said about being a famous newlywed. “But I’m going to continue to not talk about it and just let it unfold.”

Washington is scheduled to host Saturday Night Live on November 2. Check out a promo for her gig below. Can you spot a baby bump?
