Justin Bieber Says He Has “Swag” In The Hollywood Reporter: “I’m Influenced By Black Culture!”
Justin Bieber swears he has swag.
The 19-year-old pop sensation showed up for his cover shoot with The Hollywood Reporter wearing a typically uncool cherry red onesie. But the bold and simultaneously nonchalant choice of wardrobe is apparently indicative of the Biebs’ unapologetic style.
“I’m very influenced by black culture, but I don’t think of it as black or white,” he says in the November 29 issue of the magazine. “It’s not me trying to act or pose in a certain way. It’s a lifestyle—like a suaveness or a swag, per se. But I don’t really like to say the word ['swag'] anymore. It’s kind of played out.”
Posing on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter with his 32-year-old manager Scooter Braun, Justin confesses that he is comfortable with his evolution from a YouTube wannabe to a chart-topping teen idol. And for those who have an issue with any of his actions, Justin has one clear message: “I don’t give a f—.”
“Not ‘I don’t give a f—’ to just be reckless and do whatever,” he continues, “but ‘I don’t give a f— what they say.’ … I know who I am and what I’m doing in my life and what I’ve accomplished and continue to accomplish as a performer, as a writer, as an artist, as a person, as a human being. I’m happy with the man I’m becoming.”
