Lady Gaga Covers Her Naked Body In Moss & Other Weird Materials In An ARTPOP Film
In celebration of her third album ARTPOP debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, with 258,000 copies sold in its first week, Lady Gaga has released An ARTPOP Film on YouTube. In the two-and-a-half-minute movie, Mother Monster takes a bite out of fashion, for better and for much, much worse, modeling a number of questionable items from a burlap sack and moss strategically placed on her naked body.
“This album is a celebration, my pain exploding in electronic music,” Gaga says in the beginning of the YouTube clip. “It’s heavy, but after I listen to it, I feel happy again. I feel lighter.”
Directed by her longtime collaborators, Dutch fashion photography duo Inez and Vinoodh, the film debuted and left Gaga’s Little Monsters in awe and bewilderment and questioning what it all really means.
“Saw questions about ARTPOP film: This is me on a creative pop trip, I performed for 12 hrs straight,” she tweeted Thursday after the release of the visually stimulating film. “Me+Music+Pain+Creativity= ARTPOP X.”
