Although it premiered a month ago, the fallout surrounding the TLC biopic continues. Most of the drama revolves around the portrayal of Pebbles. The 49-year-old singer-songwriter, who’s credited with creating and guiding the groundbreaking hip-hop/R&B trio through the early days of their career, was depicted as money-hungry and greedy in the made-for-TV film.

In interviews in the month since CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story first aired, Pebbles has denied that there were any improprieties in how she handled TLC-related business. Reportedly, TLC was even dropped by their new label Epic Records over Pebble’s depiction in the VH1 movie; Pebble’s ex, L.A. Reid, is the chairman and CEO of Epic.

Although those reports were repeated by several media outlets, they have since been denied by L.A. on Twitter. The music mogul tweeted, “Sorry folks- @OfficialTLC have not been dropped by @Epic_Records and yes we @officialchilli and @tbozworld are friends 4 life!”
