Lady Gaga Channels Donatella As The New Face Of Versace
Versace has served up some major “Applause” for Lady Gaga. The couture Italian fashion house named the ARTPOP singer as the new face of their Spring/Summer 2014 campaign and released two new pictures shot by famed photographers Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott.
“In the images, Lady Gaga appears as her divine and glamorous self, reclining on luxurious furniture, her long hair Versace platinum blonde,” Versace wrote in an official statement. “The campaign shows how Lady Gaga completely captures the Versace essence: creative, experimental, fearless.”
The partnership should come as no surprise to Gaga’s little monsters. Not only has Gaga been seen gallivanting around town with Versace’s head designer but the pop star also paid homage to the cigarette-toting blonde with a song on her latest album called “Donatella,” of course.
“I am honored that my friend Lady Gaga is the face of our new Versace campaign,” said Donatella. “I wanted to capture her true beauty and spirit in images that are elegant and alluring. She is like family to me, the embodiment of the Versace DNA.”
And clearly, that DNA is Donatella herself. There is no denying that Gaga looks eerily like the 58-year-old fashion maven in the campaign. Like Gaga sings, do you think the ads make her look “so rich, and so blonde…she’s so fab, it’s beyond”?
