Are You Excited To Try Out The New Beats Music Service?
Good news, music fans. Sometime in the very near future, there will be yet another way for you to listen to music! Hurrayyy…Wait, what’s that? You don’t want another way to listen to music? You think there are too many ways to listen to music as is? You don’t have $10 to throw towards another subscription service?
We’ll be honest here: We don’t blame you one bit. We have iTunes and Spotify and SiriusXM and good old terrestrial radio and—HELLO!—the whole damn Internet providing us with music right now. But we also have to admit that we are intrigued by Beats Music, the Jimmy Iovine-backed music service that is scheduled to launch sometime soon. Beats Music just created a Twitter account and also started accepting submissions for user names, so they should be in business soon. And much like, say, Spotify, Beats Music is going to offer you a way to listen to anything that you want at any given moment. But it promises to be different.
Unfortunately, we have no idea how it promises to be different. That’s because Beats Music hasn’t released much information about how its service is going to be different from other services. But there are investors who have thrown millions of dollars behind this project, so we’re hoping that something is going to help set it apart from all of its competitors. We’re hoping that it makes music even more fun in the future. We’re a little bit skeptical about whether or not it’s going to be able to do that—or whether it’s just going to use the Beats name to attract customers—but we’re still going to give it a chance. Maybe it will open up our world to new music and reinvent the way we discover music. Whatever the case, it’ll be interesting to see what Beats Music does to try and attract us to their service.
