Are You Looking Forward To The Re-Release Of The Futuristic adidas Crazy 1 Sneaker?

Back in 2000, adidas had a pretty unique idea when they were gearing up to create a new basketball sneaker. That idea? They wanted to design a sneaker that was inspired by the look and feel of German sports cars. And so, they sat down and sketched out what would later become the adidas Crazy 1. The sneaker was worn by several NBA superstars at the time and was very, very futuristic-looking and innovative. To be honest, it didn’t get the greatest response from basketball players at the time—the sneaker was less about being ahead of the curve as far as sneaker technology is concerned and more about looking like a luxurious sneaker—but to date, it’s still one of the most ambitious basketball sneakers that adidas has ever released.

So with that in mind, adidas has decided to re-release the Crazy 1 sneaker later this month. As you can see in the photo above, the Crazy 1 retro will feature the same look and feel as the original. The matte finish on the yellow upper is designed to look like the matte finish on a high-end luxury car. The aerodynamic curves are designed to look like they’re ready to handle whatever twists and turns you throw at the sneaker. And the arch in the middle of the sneaker is super exaggerated to make it look like the wheel of a car. The Crazy 1 has aged pretty well and still looks as innovative as it did when it was first released about 13 years ago.

You’ll get the chance to get your hands on the Crazy 1 sneaker soon, too. adidas is releasing the Crazy 1 on December 26 through the adidas website and some adidas retailers. The sneaker will retail for $125 and will be available on a very limited basis. Are you excited about the return of the Crazy 1? And will you be picking up a pair right after Christmas? Let us know how crazy you think this sneaker is in the comments section below.
