Late last month, adidas revealed that they were putting together a “South Beach” colorway of their classic adidas Crazy 97 sneaker. And admittedly, we are not big fans of it. We like the “South Beach” colorway on some sneakers. But it just feels like it’s a bit much on the Crazy 97 sneakers. The Crazy 97s are, as their name would suggest, pretty crazy in and of themselves. So you don’t have to go too wild with colorways on them, otherwise they start to look pretty ridiculous. So we aren’t in love with the “South Beach” version of the sneaker. But we do really like the John Wall version of the Crazy 97 that adidas just put together.

In 2013, adidas is going to make it a point to create more sneakers specifically for the athletes on their roster. And that’s what they’re doing with the sneaker that you see here that was built specifically for John Wall. The Crazy 97 that was made for him features a Washington Wizards-inspired navy, red, grey, and white colorway. It also has cool graphics printed on the Three Stripes. And Wall’s jersey number 2 is on the holographic tabs on the sneakers. All in all, the John Wall version of the Crazy 97 looks pretty solid to us and we’re glad that adidas put this sneaker together.

Unfortunately, we may not be able to get our hands on this sneaker. At least, not yet. John Wall is going to wear these in a few Wizards games first to show them off. However, it sounds like adidas may release them after that happens and make them available to sneakerheads. So keep a close eye out for them. We will be sure to let you know if we hear anything about them being released in the near future.

In the meantime, do you like what adidas has done with these Crazy 97s? Let us know in the comments section below.
