Why Did UFC Fighter Matt Brown Just Suggest That All Female MMA Fighters Should Fight Topless?

In recent years, female UFC fighters have made really big strides in the world of MMA. Due in large part to the success of UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, female UFC fighters—and female MMA fighters as a whole—have earned a lot of respect from MMA fans. They still aren’t anywhere near as popular as the male fighters. But seeing as how the UFC is still fighting for respect in the mainstream, it’s nice to see that fighters like Rousey are shining bright right now. It’s encouraging to both MMA fans and those who participate in the sport. However, one male UFC fighter doesn’t see things that way.

In his opinion, female UFC fighters could be even more popular right now if they made the decision to do one thing. That one thing? Fight topless. Yes, topless. The suggestion was made by UFC fighter Matt Brown, who took part in his first podcast recently and stirred up some controversy by making the statement.

“I just think this,” he said, “if I’m going to pay $60 for a pay-per-view to watch women fight, they should at least be topless.”

Wer’e sure that there are plenty of other guys out there who have said or would say the same exact thing that Brown just said. But his opinion is completely out of line and UFC head honcho Dana White needs to pull him aside immediately and tell him to shut up. Female MMA fighters have come a long way in recent years, and they’re becoming an important part of the UFC. So for Brown to go out of his way to marginalize them by saying that they should fight topless is stupid, uncalled for, and worthy of some kind of punishment.

Do you agree with us? Do you think that Brown should be punished for what he said about female UFC fighters? Let us know in the comments section below.
