Mona Scott-Young and company are headed west to begin shooting Love & Hip-Hop: Los Angeles later this month. The latest version of the hit VH1 reality series will feature Brooke Valentine, radio DJ Yesi Ortiz, rapper Hazel-E, and video vixen Bria Myles, but LHH‘s producers have yet to secure a big name to appear as the show’s central figure. Reportedly, Ray J was slated to fill that role, but producers had to nix that plan because of Ray’s obligation as host of Bad Girls Club All-Stars on the Oxygen network. According to TMZ:

“…we’re told producers are scrambling to find someone else, but it’s proving more difficult than they anticipated … which is somewhat surprising, considering ‘Love & Hip Hop’ is one of VH1′s highest-rated shows.”

Maybe the ratchet display of manhood by dirty feet Pete on the current season of Love & Hip-Hop turned people off from the franchise. I know the show was lowbrow before Pete’s shenanigans, but he’s managed to take things to an all new level of scummy. Don’t get me wrong, I am one of the many that tunes in every Monday, but my affinity for train wreck TV doesn’t mean I can’t call a spade a spade. It’ll be interesting to see which “big name” LHH‘s producers manage to snag.
