Kate Upton “Can’t Keep Her Clothes On” In V Magazine
Kate Upton can’t keep her clothes on…and it’s easy to see why.
The 21-year-old Sports Illustrated bombshell swimsuit model has made a name for herself by flaunting her infamous curves while appearing in various forms of undress on the covers of magazines from Vogue Italia, Cosmopolitan, and French ELLE to GQ, Sunday Times Style, and Esquire. But on the cover of the latest issue of V magazine, fans can decide the blonde’s nude attitude.
Shot by Sebastien Faena, Kate appears in a Daisy Duke inspired Nicola Formichetti for Diesel shirt and jeans outfit but, with the flick off the hand, anyone can peel off her clothes to uncover a patterned bikini. “Each time I saw her at a shoot, she had become a bigger and bigger star, and her physique, more and more notorious,” V editor Stephan Gan says of the revealing cover trick. “It has always intrigued me, as I’m sure it has to most readers, how someone gets embraced by the general public for taking their clothes off and loved by the fashion world for keeping them on.”
Inside the magazine, Kate dished on her posing prowess. “I now suffer from Catalog Tourette’s,” she joked. “I can switch a pose like it’s no one’s business. As soon as I hear a camera click, I’m on. I tell you, it’s a serious nervous condition.”
Still, Kate believes she still has room for improvement. “I don’t compare myself with other models,” the beauty explains. “For me, modeling is really about competing with yourself, becoming the best you can be. The truth is that I can’t do facial expressions like [Coco Rocha] and others do. If I pull a goofy face, it doesn’t look cute; I look like a dying animal. But I guess someone likes what I am doing.”
As the star of the upcoming flick The Other Woman, it’s no surprise that Upton often gets compared to another voluptuous screen siren. “I think Marilyn Monroe was a beautiful and sexy woman who portrayed herself in an irresistible and charming way,” says Upton. “Who wouldn’t be honored to be compared to her?”
