A Diehard Broncos Fan Who Lives In The State Of Washington Got Fired For Wearing A Denver Jersey To Work

We’re not going to lie: It must be horrible to be 17-year-old Nathaniel Wentz right now. You see, Wentz is a diehard Denver Broncos fan. However, he lives in Tacoma, Wash., which, at the moment, is enemy territory since Wentz’s Broncos are set to play against the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLVIII on February 2. So everywhere he goes, he catches hell from Seahawks fans who poke fun at his Broncos gear and tell him to take off his Denver attire. And as he found out recently, he wasn’t even safe from ridicule when it came to him going to work.

He found that out the hard way on Sunday when he showed up for work at a local entertainment center wearing a Broncos jersey. His boss had told him and the other employees at the center that they could wear jerseys on Sunday since the AFC and NFC Championship Games were on. But apparently, his boss had meant that the employees could only wear Seahawks jerseys to work. Because when Wentz showed up for work, his boss told him to go home and get changed because he didn’t want him wearing a Broncos jersey. Wentz left and said that he would not be coming back to work without his Broncos jersey, and his boss fired him.

That’s rough, eh? Even rougher is the fact that, as a result of him getting fired, Wentz’s photo is now everywhere in Tacoma and all around the nation. So he’s catching even more hell than before from Seahawks fans who think it’s an absolute travesty that he thought it was okay to wear a Denver jersey in Washington.

What do you think about what Wentz did? Was it OK for him to try and show support for his favorite team? Or do you think he should have left his Broncos jersey at home rather than causing a commotion at work?
