How Ridiculously Crazy Are These New adidas Crazy 8 “Splatter” Sneakers?

Even though the silhouette for the adidas Crazy 8 has been around for more than a decade now, it still looks every bit as crazy as it did the first year that it was released. Whether it’s done up in a relatively simple colorway—like grey, black, and white—or done up in something a little more festive—like, say, a purple and yellow Lakers colorway—the Crazy 8 looks, as its name would suggest, crazy. So just imagine how crazy it would look if adidas went extra wild with a design and went all out with the colors that they put on it. Picture it in your head right now…

Is the image above what you pictured? We highly doubt it. Because even if you thought of something super crazy, you probably didn’t think of anything as crazy as the adidas Crazy 8 “Splatter.” This particular Crazy 8 features an orange upper that looks like it’s been “splattered” with blue paint. And then, just for good measure, adidas has also gone ahead and added hits of lime green, blue, black, and white just to make the sneaker really pop. It’s obviously a sneaker that was designed to stand out in a crowd. And yet, we have to admit that we like what adidas has done here. It’s chaos, yes, but it’s a controlled chaos that doesn’t go overboard.

Does that mean that we’re going to be wearing these things anytime soon? Eh, we doubt it. We can appreciate what adidas did here. But there are other adidas Crazy 8 colorways that we like better than this one. So we’re going to stick with wearing those. But we’re sure that there are some people out there who would really like this sneaker. And if you’re one of those people, then step right up right now and get yourself a pair. They are available through select adidas retailers at the moment but won’t be available for long.

Are you crazy enough to wear these Crazy 8 sneakers? Or are they a little bit too crazy for you?
