The Simpsons To Do Lego Episode

The Simpsons have been to lots of places: Japan, Alaska, even Outer Space. But this year, the family from Springfield will be heading to a world of Legos. The show has announced that on May 4, for its 550th episode, the show will be constructed entirely of Lego building blocks. At the same time, Lego announced that through its partnership with Fox, it will introduce Simpson-themed sets and minifigures in its retail outlets, also in May.

According to a description, Homer will wake up in the Lego world, and spend the rest of the episode trying to figure out “how he got there” and “ how to get home before he is stuck in a world of bricks forever.”

The Lego Movie is currently topping the box office, making the the animated brick style hot this year. And The Simpsons, going into its 26th season, is always looking for ways to start fresh.

This isn’t the first time America’s favorite animated family has appeared in a different medium. A Halloween (“Treehouse of Horror”) episode saw Homer transported to “the third dimension,” and eventually the real world; and a recent Christmas episode saw the Simpsons as puppets, with (non-puppet) special guest star Katy Perry.
