The highly anticipated first trailer for Marvel’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy is here. Debuting on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday night, the two minute clip offers the fullest look yet at the sci-fi action comedy, featuring some of the Marvel universe’s most beloved, but more obscure, heroes.

The film stars Chris Pratt as Star Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon (voice), Vin Diesel as Groot (voice), and WCW star Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, who collectively make up the Guardians. It also features big names like John C. Reilly, Djimoun Hounsou, and Glenn Close (who wasn’t in the trailer). The trailer also featured a very brief glimpse of Benicio Del Toro as The Collector, who was in the post-credits scene of Thor 2: The Dark World.

(In an interesting bit of trivia, the trailer also featured actor Peter Serafinowicz as a Nova Corps Officer. Serafinowicz has acted with Pratt before- as Andy’s new British BFF Lord Edgar Covington in an episode of Parks and Recreation.)

Guardians is part of “Phase 2″ of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe releases. Over the summer, Pratt emphasized that the film will be more comedic than many superhero films, and will “flip” expectations. (However, this snarky incarnation of Star Lord seems to have a lot in common with his Marvel brother Tony Stark/Iron Man.)

Guardians of the Galaxy is scheduled for release on August 1.
