Are These Reebok Question “Sixers” Sneakers Coming Out Soon?

Early next month, the Philadelphia 76ers are going to officially retire the No. 3 for Allen Iverson. Last year, Iverson held a press conference in Philly to announce his retirement from the NBA. So it was really only a matter of time before the Sixers came around to the idea of hanging his jersey up in the rafters. In fact, you could argue that it’s taken them a little bit too long to do it. Jason Kidd retired last summer, and the Brooklyn Nets retired his number at the start of the 2013-14 NBA season. So it’s a little bit strange that it’s taken the Sixers this long to retire AI’s number, especially when you consider that their fans haven’t had much to cheer about this season. They could’ve used a retirement ceremony a few months ago.

At any rate, the 76ers are going to retire Iverson’s jersey in March. And to commemorate the event, it appears as though Reebok is going to release a limited-edition Reebok Question “Sixers” colorway. Reebok hasn’t made an announcement yet regarding the sneakers. But photos of them leaked out earlier this week, and the “Sixers” Questions are pretty dope. They feature red and blue suede on the upper with white on the tongue, midsoles, outsoles, and laces. There are also some gold accents on the tongue, and the sneakers will come numbered with only 1996 pairs of the “Sixers” sneakers set to be released. The number 1996 represents the year that Iverson was drafted into the NBA. It’s a nice touch and if these sneakers are released in time for Iverson’s retirement ceremony, we think it will be a nice tribute for him.

We don’t have too many other details on the “Sixers” sneakers yet. But there are plenty of photos of them out there at the moment. We’ve collected a bunch of them and posted them below. What do you think about this Question colorway? Do you want to see it released in time for Iverson’s retirement ceremony? And will you pick up a pair if you’re able to find a pair on sale? Check out the additional images of the “Sixers” sneakers below and then let us know what you think in the comments section.
