This Sneakerhead Tried To Give His Wife A New Pair Of Sneakers & She Did Not Want Them
If you love sneakers as much as the average sneakerhead, then you probably can’t fathom the idea of someone else not loving sneakers as much as you do. Being a sneakerhead in 2014 is a very difficult thing. It’s almost like having a part-time job, because you have to be constantly connected to the sneaker scene and you have to spend a ton of time researching sneakers, waiting in long lines, and shelling out hundreds of dollars just to stay on top of the latest releases. So if you call yourself a “sneakerhead,” you have to be super passionate about shoes. And that passion is so strong that you likely think that everyone loves sneakers just as much as you do.
Recently, though, a sneakerhead proved that not everyone loves sneakers when he decided to buy his wife a pair of Air Jordans. Without asking her first, he ordered her a pair of the Air Jordan XI Low “Turbo Green” sneakers that dropped and gave them to her as a gift. The only problem? She hated them because she said that they reminded her of something that she would have worn back in 1993. So she refused to take the sneakers and continued to tell her husband that she thinks that they are ugly, even as he tried his best to convince her otherwise. And at some point, he decided to start filming her so that he could share his disbelief with the world.
You can watch the guy’s wife put down the AJ XI “Turbo Green” sneakers in the video above. Even though he tries his hardest, it’s impossible for him to convince her to take the sneakers. And while we don’t necessarily agree with her assessment of the kicks, it’s kind of refreshing to hear someone outside of the sneaker community give their opinion on a pair of sneakers. So often, people get caught up in the hype surrounding sneakers. So it’s nice to know that there are people out there who have strong opinions on sneakers that aren’t based on something they read on a sneaker blog or on Twitter.
Do you think that the wife is right here? Are the Air Jordan XI “Turbo Green” sneakers ugly? Or do you think she needs to have her eyes examined? Let us know in the comments section below.
