Was Drake Wearing Women’s Sneakers During The Raptors Game Yesterday?

We were sad to see the Toronto Raptors get knocked out of the 2014 NBA Playoffs yesterday afternoon. Reason being, with the Raptors eliminated, we won’t get to see Drake sitting courtside during NBA games anymore. And that’s a real shame, because from his now-infamous lint roller incident to his passionate reactions to just about everything that happened on the court this season, Drake has been great for the game of basketball in Toronto. And he’s kept us interested in Raptors game all season long.

During the Raptors’ Game 7 loss to the Brooklyn Nets yesterday, Drake gave us one more reason to talk about him, too. It didn’t have anything to do with what he actually did on the court, though. Rather, it had everything to do with the sneakers that he was wearing on the sideline. For the big game, he decided to lace up a pair of sneakers that looked a lot like a pair of Air Jordan V “Sunset” sneakers. And while it’s not out of the ordinary to see Drake—or any rapper for that matter—kicking it in a pair of Air Jordan kicks, it was a little bit strange to see Drizzy wearing what appeared to be the “Sunsets,” because if you remember, those were not released for men. They were instead released as a women’s colorway, which means that Drake may have been rocking a pair of women’s sneakers on the sideline during the game. Take a look:

Weird? Eh, sort of. If this was anyone other than Drake, people probably wouldn’t be clowning him right now. And Drake is far from the first dude to ever rock a pair of women’s Air Jordans, if those were, in fact, women’s Js. The “Sunsets” also happen to be a pretty dope colorway, which we wouldn’t mind rocking if they came in men’s sizes. But it’s kind of crazy to see Drake stuffing his feet into a pair of them.

Do you think it’s strange to see Drake wearing what looks like a women’s colorway? Or do you think it’s perfectly fine for him to be wearing them since they clearly seem to fit? Let us know in the comments section below.
