Tonight, we will finally get to find out exactly where Johnny Manziel is going to play football during the upcoming NFL season. For months now, there has been a ton of speculation about where he will land, with everyone from the Houston Texans to the Oakland Raiders reportedly showing interest in him. But tonight, the speculation will end when Roger Goodell calls Johnny Football’s name, assuming, of course, he gets drafted in the first round. And as of right now, Manziel has a message for all of the NFL teams who don’t have him ranked high on their draft boards. He says that the teams who pass him over tonight will ultimately end up regretting it.

“I believe they will, personally,” he said yesterday. “I know in my heart how good I want to be and how committed I am to this game.”

Manziel also pointed out that, while he needs to improve certain aspects of his game, he feels as though he’s ready to come right into the league and make an immediate impact.

“I see there’s room for me to improve,” he said, “but to say I’m just a backyard-football quarterback, I don’t think you do what I did in college and do some of those things [with that style]. I don’t think that’s extremely fair. I hear it, but for me, I know it’s all about my work ethic and my will to get better. That’s very alive and inside me…I don’t want to be what I was in college. Obviously, I want to be better.”

No one has ever questioned Manziel’s heart or his desire to win. It’s clear that he really, really wants to succeed in the NFL. But will he really make teams regret not drafting him? After all, drafting him in the top 10 is, at this point, risky business. And a team could potentially regret picking Manziel if they take him too high. But Manziel sounds like a guy who is going to come into the NFL with a chip on his shoulder if he gets passed over by a bunch of teams. And if that happens, the NFL needs to be on watch. Because this guy could end up being even better than a lot of people are expecting him to be.

Make sure you tune into the NFL Draft tonight to see when Manziel gets picked and which team decides to take him.
