Did Lance Stephenson Wake Up The Beast In LeBron James?

Did Lance Stephenson really get into LeBron James’ head?

Surely, that’s what Lance would like to think after blowing into King James’ ear in the second half of the Pacers’ 93-90. LeBron ended game 5 with a dud. He shot 2-of-10 from the field and finished with just seven points, the lowest playoff output of his career. It wasn’t necessarily Stephenson blowing in James’ ear as much as it was the five fouls James racked up in 13 minutes. He never was able to get into a groove as he watched the Pacers pull to 3-2 after looking dead in the water in game 4.

But there’s an issue that is lingering here. Despite James’ putrid performance, the Heat only lost by three points. It’s not as if the Pacers blew them out. Rather, it shows that the Heat aren’t in such a bad place. Losing by three when your best player has a remarkable game hurts. But losing by three when your best player is awfully awful is a different story.

And all Stephenson likely did was piss James off. Remember when Deshawn Stevenson called LeBron “overrated” and what subsequently happened? Yeah, he got bodied. All that blowing in the ear will likely bring out the beast in James and Stephenson will be his first victim.

But it was still funny though.
