Do You Remember These Reebok Blast Sneakers That Are Going To Be Re-Released This Summer?

Wow. Reebok is just not going to stop hitting us over the head with re-releases, are they? Over the course of the last year or two, they’ve re-released a countless number of sneakers. They’ve actually re-released so many that we’ve had a little bit of trouble keeping up with all of them. But this summer, they’re going to hit us with yet another one. And pun fully intended, it’s definitely a blast from the past.

Almost two decades ago, Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Van Exel wore the Reebok Blast sneakers that you see here. The sneakers were designed to look like they were exploding and they were a hit amongst those who played basketball at the time. They weren’t quite as popular as some of the other Reebok sneakers that were out back then. But there was certainly a niche of people who loved this sneaker. And now, they’ll get to wear it again in all of its glory as Reebok will be re-releasing it in a variety of different colorways. Most of them will be of the black/white variety. But we’re betting that Reebok will also go way outside of the box and release a couple really crazy colorways as well. There is a lot that they can do with the Blast sneaker and we fully expect them to do it.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like you’re going to be able to get your hands on these sneakers at the top of the summer, though. Reebok isn’t planning on re-releasing the Blasts until late August. They’ll retail for $125 and will be available through a number of different Reebok retailers. But you’ve waited almost 20 years for these sneakers now. So what’s another few months?!

Check out some additional photos of the Blast sneaker below and let us know if you plan on picking up a pair when they hit stores in August. Are you glad to see that these sneakers have finally returned?
