Rae Holliday and Gabriel Williams of StuffFlyPeopleLike.com are celebrity bloggers, television personalities, businessmen, and curators of all things “fly.” Since the launch of their website six years ago, the duo has become a brand, and are well on their way to becoming household names.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that I have a great deal of respect for these two, so it was a pleasure to interview them for the first installment of the summer video series of my column, “The Scoop,” on TheHomeOfHipHop.com. During our sit-down over yogurt at Brooklyn Swirl in Bed-Stuy, the three of us talked about their new partnership with Interactive One, celebrity fashion, and what’s next for the “fly guys.” Check out highlights and the video of the interview below.

ON RUNNING STUFFFLYPEOPLELIKE.COM ON A DAY-TO-DAY BASIS:

Gabe: “People think it’s easy, but it’s not easy at all. You have to really sit and research and kind of map out what you’re going to do because you don’t want to do what everyone else is doing – at the same time, you are what everyone else is doing, but you’re making it your own.”

ON WHAT’S NEXT FOR STUFFFLYPEOPLELIKE.COM:

Rae:“We’re in a partnership with Interactive One now. Interactive One, Radio One, TV One is just a big media conglomerate in the websphere. They’re responsible for Hello Beautiful and The Urban Daily and all these huge blogs. They don’t have that male presence, so we’ve been courting back-and-forth with them for a year about this deal, and we finally signed it. The thing that’s great, it’s not like they acquired StuffFlyPeopleLike, or anything like that; it’s a genuine partnership. We’re the second studio partner; the first studio partner is Global Grind. So for us to even be on that same level and not get the traffic of Global Grind, and we don’t have a Russell Simmons. It’s just us; so what they saw in Global Grind, they also saw in us.”

Check out the entire interview, including details on their other endeavors and their take on the most fashionable celebrities, in the video below.
