Tara Wallace is more than just the messy love triangle that introduced her to the world during last season of Love & Hip-Hop: NY. Although her relationship with her ex, Peter Gunz, came to a traumatic end in front of millions when he secretly married his artist, Amina Buddafly, the Mississippi native is moving on by making major moves and pursuing her Hollywood dreams.

Currently shooting for Season 5 of Love & Hip-Hop: NY, Tara is busy raising her two young sons with Peter and rehearsing for her upcoming play, Jury Duty. Despite her hectic schedule, a few days ago, the southern beauty sat down with me over yogurt at Off the Wall in Times Square for the latest installment of my summer video series, “The Scoop” on TheHomeOfHipHop.com. Our talk came a mere day after news broke that Amina had given birth to her and Peter’s first child together – a girl. Check out highlights below.

ON AMINA GIVING BIRTH TO PETER’S BABY:

“I see him often because we have children obviously, so I see him pretty much every day, and as long as Amina has a happy, healthy baby. No woman would want a woman to have a baby that’s anything other than healthy, perfect, despite the circumstances. So, you know, congratulations to them.”

ON HER BOYS WITH PETER STILL NOT KNOWING THAT SHE AND PETER ARE NO LONGER TOGETHER:

“My boys are very small – one is 2, one’s 6 – and it’s just a conversation that they’re just not ready to hear. They are obsessed with and adore their dad, so when their dad is not home, you know, as far as I’m concerned, they’re concerned, dad’s working, and you’ll be back with him tomorrow.”

ON HER BOYS WITH PETER NOT KNOWING THEY HAVE A NEW LITTLE SISTER:

“No, they don’t know. That’s something that he and I are discussing how we’re going to let them know that information. It’s just a lot – they’re just too small to even try to even process that. The world is so filled with like hardships and stuff you have to go through, so if I can protect them for as long as I can, that’s what I’m going to do.”

ON HER NEW PLAY, JURY DUTY:

“‘Jury Duty’, yes! August 24 at BB King’s – I’m very excited about that. I’m excited that JD Lawrence was even interested in having a conversation with me, let alone cast me in the play. You know, things like that, you just don’t take for granted. Acting is what I do. It does make me very nervous to be around a group of actors again, and us all working together because I did spend some time away from acting – I was having my babies, and trying to support those babies. Acting was unfortunately something I did when I got around to it. So now that it’s here, I’m just excited about jumping in there, and at BB King’s. It’s going to be my very first big play.”
