Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta Star Ariane Davis Blasts Nikko Smith, Says Stevie J “Has A Heart”
Another eventful season of Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta came to an end last night after seventeen episodes of drama-filled ratchetness. Even before the season got started, fans were buzzing about the sex tape starring LHAA stars Mimi Faust and Nikko Smith, which, not surprisingly, was the biggest storyline of any of the cast members this time around.
From the time Nikko first joined the show during Season 2, Mimi’s good friend, Ariane Davis, did not make her distaste for the wannabe singer-songwriter a secret. After his sex tape with Mimi went public, her dislike for him increased because of the role she believes he played in it leaking. During my recent interview with Ariane for my summer video series, “The Scoop” on TheHomeOfHipHop.com, she made it clear that she thinks he could’ve done more to stop the tape from getting out. Check out highlights from our chat below.
ON WHY SHE THINKS MIMI AGREED TO MAKE THE SEX TAPE:
“I think that Mimi can be easily manipulated when she’s feeling someone, so she wants to cater to their needs. And if this was something they talked about and discussed; she did say that, ‘yeah, we’ve done tapes before.’ The whole other issue as far is getting it to the actual company, I don’t know, but it just seems like she was easily persuaded into doing this. And it’s kind of heartbreaking, but maybe she just did it for her own reasons. Her own personal reasons that she won’t ever tell anybody, I don’t know.”
“I know that I don’t condone it, I don’t, just because she has a daughter. Sex tapes, fine – do what the f*ck you want, cool. But to let it get out and know that this man claims he love you – he could’ve stopped it if he really wanted to. That’s my whole thing – you could’ve really stopped it if you cared about her as a mother and if you cared for her daughter. You would’ve stopped it if it had gotten out, allegedly.”
ON STEVIE J VERSUS NIKKO:
“It’s not about looking good or not looking good, it’s that I understand Stevie’s position in it all because that’s his StevieJNikkodaughter too. And, yeah, he’s done a lot of f*cked up sh*t to Mimi, but it hasn’t been to this degree. And I just feel like Nikko, you know I didn’t like you from the day I met you at Boa in LA, you knew that. You’re going to always know that – you rubbed me wrong. Stevie and I have a different dynamic, and it’s because we’ve been in intimate conversations and we’ve had these settings together. I don’t want to have that with Nikko because I don’t feel there’s any genuineness there. I know Stevie may be f*cked up and do whatever the f*ck he does, but deep down, deep down, that man has a heart, he does. That other one, very heartless.”
Check out my interview with Ariane in its entirety, including if she feels Mona Scott-Young set up the multiple brawls involving Joseline Hernandez at the reunion show taping and the “scoop” on her relationship, in the video below. She also hints at possibly appearing on Love & Hip-Hop: NY.
