Sin City: A Dame To Kill For– What Do The Reviews Say?
The reviews are in for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. And they seem to agree that the sequel is a pretty empty shell of violence, style, and nudity– but isn’t that why everyone’s going to see it?
The Los Angeles Times’ Besty Sharkey says the movie is “visually stunning but emotionally vapid, unrelentingly violent, its splendiferous comic book cast mostly squandered.”
But that unrelenting violence strikes others differently; Richard Roeper gushes that this is “a badass movie.”
Another point of consensus is that Eva Green dominates the film as the sultry, funny, lively titular dame– and that she is frequently naked (as she often is, regardless of what film she’s in).
Green is “sexy, funny, dangerous and wild – everything the film needed to be,” says L.A. Weekly’s Amy Nicholson, “and whenever she’s not on screen, we feel her absence as though the sun has blinked off.” And Sharkey agrees Green steals “all the thunder.”
