Are You Impressed With The J Wall 1 Sneaker That adidas Created For John Wall?
Back at the beginning of his NBA career, John Wall signed an endorsement deal with Reebok that saw him release several signature sneakers through the brand. However, none of the sneakers that he released through Reebok ever really caught on. He was still a young player in the league and didn’t make a ton of noise in his early years, so kids didn’t flock to the store to buy his sneakers. So eventually, Reebok cut ties with him and the Washington Wizards star decided to sign a deal with adidas. And after spending a couple years wearing some of the standard adidas basketball sneakers, adidas has finally given him his very own signature sneaker, which he will begin wearing when the NBA season tips off later this month.
You can see that sneaker—which has been dubbed the adidas J Wall 1—in the photos posted here. It’s initially going to be available in a Wizards-themed colorway that includes hits of grey, blue, red, and white throughout it as well as a black/grey colorway. It includes adidas’ patented adipreme+ and FITFRAME features. And it has a breathable upper, which will make the sneaker both durable and comfortable for those who choose to use it out on the basketball court. And unlike some of the other signature sneakers that adidas has created in recent years, the J Wall 1—complete with Wall’s new logo on it—looks like a sneaker that would wear well off of the court, too. It appears to be pretty versatile and could catch on with those looking for a casual basketball sneaker to wear when they’re not playing ball.
What do you think about what adidas has done with Wall’s first signature sneaker? We think that it definitely has some potential and that it’ll serve as a nice building block for Wall’s sneaker line. It will be available in stores on October 31 and will be released in a variety of different colorways before the 2014-15 NBA season is over. Check out some images of the J Wall 1 below and then let us know what you think about the first adidas x John Wall offering.
