Do You Like The Look Of Damian Lillard’s New adidas Signature Sneaker?
He has only been in the NBA for a few years now. But adidas has apparently already seen enough of him on the court to give Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard his own signature sneaker. They haven’t released any information on it, and there’s a chance that they didn’t want Lillard to say anything about it just yet. But on Friday, the promising young player took to his Instagram account and posted a video that featured him holding up his new signature sneakers. You can watch the video below to see Lillard rapping about his sneakers and then showing them off:
Got a special #4BarFriday for y’all. Probably not supposed to do this, but I can’t keep it from y’all any longer. Preview of my first ever signature shoe: The @adidashoops #DLillard1…coming soon! Shout out to everyone that has helped my dreams come true. And let me know what y’all think. #teamadidas #threestripelife
Lillard also took to Twitter a short time after posting that video and posted the photo that you see above. However, he refused to share any details concerning the sneakers, other than to say that they will be released sometime in 2015.
“They come out in 2015,” he wrote, “that’s all I can say for now. #staytuned.”
From what we can see, Lillard’s signature sneakers—which bear both his name and what appears to be his new logo on them—are cut low and don’t really look like most of the other adidas basketball sneakers out on the market. In fact, if you didn’t tell us that these were made by adidas, we probably wouldn’t even know. They don’t feature the brand’s patented Three Stripes and there’s very little indication that these are adidas sneakers. We like what we see so far, though, and think that these will get a pretty decent reaction from Lillard fans as well as those people who like a good basketball sneaker. We’ll be interested to see what technology has been used to create them and what other colorways adidas comes out with next year.
What do you think about the look of Lillard’s new signature sneaker? Let us know.
