By now, you’ve read about and gawked at Kim Kardashian‘s bare bottom gracing the cover of Paper Magazine. That oiled up (and perhaps photoshopped) posterior had everyone up in arms when it hit the web. Appropriately titled “Break The Internet,” Paper Magazine explained how the photo shoot came about.

For our winter issue, we gave ourselves one assignment: Break The Internet. There is no other person that we can think of who is up to the task than one Kim Kardashian West. A pop culture fascination able to generate headlines just by leaving her house, Kim is what makes the web tick.

We tapped legendary French photographer Jean-Paul Goude to recreate his iconic “Champagne Incident” shot and all we can say about the images inside, which we’ll be releasing on Thursday, is…holy fucking shit. This issue has got so much more in store so be sure to check back next week.

But there had to be some shade coming from somewhere. This time, it comes courtesy of Naya Rivera. You know, the “Glee” star who has been dodging ex-fiance Big Sean‘s verbal jabs ever since the wedding was called off?

“I normally don’t. But…you’re somebody’s mother…,” Rivera commented about the Kardashian photo. Of course, her thoughts were met with all kinds of hell from the web.

Throwing stones in a glass house is no bueno. It certainly didn’t help that she ended up getting married to another guy on the date she reserved for Big Sean. And considering that many see her as a Kardashian clone, perhaps she should have kept her thoughts to herself.

But whatever your opinion of the photos, what do you think of the presumption that KK could “break the Internet”? Reasonable presumption or considerable arrogance?
