Theophilus London Wants You To Know That He Has Already Worn The adidas Yeezi Sneakers
Last week, the first image of the adidas Yeezi sneaker that Kanye West has helped create leaked out on the Internet. And people went crazy over it. Even though adidas didn’t release any actual photos of the sneaker or any of the details about it, the speculation surrounding the sneaker was overwhelming. And the photo actually created more questions than answers. Like, is the sneaker in the photo the sneaker that’s going to hit stores? Or is it just a mock-up that’s still being fine-tuned? And while we’re at it, when is the sneaker going to hit stores anyway? And will it be available to everyone or just the select few who are able to find it and, more importantly, afford it?
Unfortunately, we still don’t have the answers to any of those questions. But earlier this week, Theophilus London—who just released his latest project, Vibes—took to Twitter to reveal that the Yeezi is definitely a real sneaker that’s going to hit stores soon. And he knows this because he says that, back in September, Kanye let him try the sneakers on for a very short period of time. He also acknowledged that the sneaker we all saw was not the final version and that Kanye’s DONDA team is still working on the sneaker. But he called the Yeezi “the future of sneakers” in his tweets. Here’s exactly what he had to say:
Some people responded to Theophilus London’s Twitter stunt by questioning whether or not he actually tried on the sneakers. Because he didn’t provide any photo evidence, they were skeptical about whether or not he was telling the truth. But Theophilus London has been working closely with Kanye in recent months—Kanye actually worked on Vibes and was spotted partying with Theophilus London recently—so it wouldn’t surprise us at all if he actually got a sneak peek at the Yeezis.
Do you think Theophilus London is telling the truth? If so, do his tweets make you more excited for the Yeezis than you already were? Let us know.
