Did Odell Beckham Jr. Make The Greatest Catch In NFL History Last Night?

The New York Giants haven’t had much to celebrate so far this season. After getting off to a somewhat promising start—at one point, people thought they might have a chance to win the NFC East—the G-Men are now 3-8 after their loss to the Dallas Cowboys last night. And while the Cowboys are contending for the NFC East crown and will likely make the playoffs this season, the Giants are essentially playing for a good draft pick next spring. At best, they’ll win their next five games and finish .500, which is a long shot. At worst, they’ll end up being one of the worst teams in the NFL this season. So it’s been a rough few months for Giants fans.

However, last night, fans of Big Blue did have at least one thing to celebrate thanks to their rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. He had a huge night for New York, grabbing 10 passes for 146 yards and scoring twice in the Giants’ 31-28 loss to Dallas. But it was one reception in particular that had everyone talking.

In the second quarter of the game, with the Giants leading 7-3, Beckham Jr. caught a pass from Eli Manning for a 43-yard touchdown that was, without a doubt, one of the best catches we’ve ever seen. Beckham Jr. was interfered with by a defender, jumped up, and snagged the ball with three fingers before landing in the end zone. It looked like this and was incredible:

After the catch took place, Twitter blew up and there were tons and tons and tons of Beckham Jr.-inspired memes to go around. Here are a few of our favorites:

We have to ask, though: Was Beckham Jr.’s catch the best catch you’ve ever seen? We’ve seen more clutch catches over the years. And of course, the catch that former Giants wide receiver David Tyree made in the Super Bowl a few years back was way more important in the grand scheme of things. But Beckham Jr. made a catch that people are going to be talking about for a long, long time.

Do you think it was everything it’s been cracked up to be?
