Sunday marked the one-year anniversary of the passing of Paul Walker, and fans paid homage to the actor’s tragic death by leaving flowers and lighting candles where he was killed. According to TMZ:

“Hundreds huddled around the crash zone to leave flowers and pay their respects … but the rain put a damper on candle lighting.

There was a heavy police presence — it’s unclear why — but it went down without incident.”

Paul was killed while riding as a passenger in a Porsche Carrera GT during a charity event for Reach Out Worldwide last year. The car’s driver, Paul’s good friend and financial adviser Roger Rodas, lost control of the vehicle, which crashed into a tree and burst into flames.

At the time of his death, Paul was filming Fast & Furious 7 in Atlanta. The film is set for release in April 2015.
