Reebok Is Celebrating The 25th Anniversary Of The Pump By Adding It To Allen Iverson’s Classic Question Sneaker
Sneaker fusions are nothing new. Over the course of the last five years or so, Nike and Air Jordan have released a number of sneakers that have taken two popular shoes and mashed them together to create one brand-new shoe. And these sneakers have received mixed reactions. Some people have loved the fact that classic sneakers have been given a new twist, while others have gotten upset about it. Not everyone loves the idea of tinkering with perfection. So with that in mind, we imagine that there was some trepidation when Reebok announced their plan to incorporate their The Pump technology into some of their most popular Reebok sneakers ever as part of a new “Pump It Up” pack.
The first sneaker that they’ve done it to is Allen Iverson‘s classic Question sneaker. And while we’re sure there are going to be some people out there who don’t love it, we actually like the new look of the Question x The Pump sneaker. In recent years, Reebok has released the Question in a variety of different colorways and put out special editions of the sneaker. So it’s not like we haven’t seen some unorthodox colors on the sneaker anyway. And by adding The Pump to it, Reebok is just pushing the boundaries a bit more with the Question. We also like that they added “The Question” branding to The Pump itself, which adds to the personality of the sneaker.
The Reebok Pump Question sneaker will be available through a number of Reebok retailers on December 24. It will retail for $175. What do you think about what Reebok has done here? Are you in favor of them messing with the original design of one of their best signature sneakers ever? Or do you think they’ve done a good jump incorporating The Pump into the Question without changing the look of it too much?
