By now, you know that Kanye West is working exclusively with adidas when it comes to sneakers. After releasing two very successful shoes through Nike, Kanye parted ways with them and eventually linked up with adidas to create the new adidas Yeezy Boost sneakers as well as a handful of other kicks and clothing. But between leaving Nike and signing with adidas, Kanye also fielded several other offers from sneaker companies. He talked about it during a recent interview that he did with BBC Radio 1 host Zane Lowe.

So who caught Kanye’s eye and made him an offer before adidas? As it turns out, Puma. Kanye revealed that he had several meetings with someone and that he almost decided to take his design talents to Puma to create sneakers before signing with adidas. If he had, he wouldn’t be the first rapper to work with the company. Meek Mill has also done a lot of work with them over the last couple of years. But instead, Kanye decided to do a deal with adidas after the Puma deal fell through. He didn’t explain why it didn’t work out. But it’s safe to assume that he thought adidas would be a better look for him and his brand.

Oh, and that’s not all. During his chat with Zane Lowe, Kanye also revealed that, if the Puma and adidas deals had both fallen through, he probably would have called Drake and asked him if he needed help with his Jordan Brand collaboration. He wasn’t necessarily interested in creating his own Jordan line. But it’s hard to imagine Jordan not stepping up to the plate and making him an offer, if he had contacted Drake about it.

With all of this in mind, do you think that Kanye ultimately made the right decision by doing a deal with adidas? Or do you think that he should have gone with Puma or maybe even Jordan Brand? You can listen to his entire interview with Zane Lowe in the video below.
