Michigan State Makes The Final Four, Inspires Reebok to Re-Release The Question “Green Fifteen”
Are you upset about Michigan State making it all the way to this year’s Final Four? Did the Spartans bust your bracket or cause you to miss out on making money in your office pool? Were you pulling for Villanova or someone else from their region to make a run to the NCAA Championship Game? If so, you’re probably cursing Michigan State this morning and wishing that they hadn’t won yesterday. But if you’re a fan of classic sneakers, then there is one good thing to come out of Michigan State’s win on Sunday. Thanks to their improbable Final Four run, Reebok has decided to re-release a shoe that was made famous by the Michigan State team that played back in 2000.
Late yesterday, Reebok announced the return of the Reebok Question “Green Fifteen” colorway. The “Green Fifteen” features a mostly-white upper with hits of green throughout the sneaker and an icy blue outer sole. The sneakers were worn by the Spartans during their magical 2000 NCAA Tournament run, so they’re being re-released to celebrate the fact that the Spartans are still dancing deep into another tournament. And while they’re a small consolation prize for those of us who didn’t pick the Spartans to make it to the Final Four this season, we’ll definitely take it.
If you’re interested in picking up a pair of these sneakers, they will be available through a number of Reebok retailers on Friday, April 3 and will sell for $140. The Spartans will take the court against the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday, which means that you might not have much time to break them in if you’re a Michigan State fan. But thanks to their head coach Tom Izzo, something tells us they’ll be back in the Big Dance again for years to come. So we’d suggest picking up a pair of these and throwing them on ice for the future. Because who knows when we’re going to see them released again?
