Brandon Jennings Says Chris Brown Is More Talented Than Michael Jackson & Makes (Almost) Everyone In The World Mad

Do you follow Detroit Pistons point guard Brandon Jennings on Twitter? If not, then there’s only one thing that you really need to know about his social media habits: He likes to say things that get under peoples’ skin. In the past, he’s done it by saying that Kobe Bryant is definitely the greatest NBA player of all time, which is something that didn’t sit real well with all of the Michael Jordan (and LeBron James!) fans out there. But he took things to a new extreme this weekend when he managed to make both NBA fans and music fans angry with one short series of tweets.

Early Sunday morning—very early Sunday morning at, like, 3 a.m.—Jennings took to his Twitter account and called for everyone’s attention. “I need yall attention right now,” he wrote. “Cus this my opinion.” Then, he proceeded to make one of the craziest statements he’s ever made, one that made Michael Jackson fans everywhere cringe immediately.

“I believe Chris Brown is way more Talented then [sic] Michael Jackson,” he wrote. “Only thing stopped that was stuff outside of Music.”

He didn’t stop there, though. He also said that Chris Brown’s talent is “scary,” claimed that “Chris Brown dance way better then [sic] Michael Jackson,” and finished off his rant by proclaiming that “if that drama outside of music don’t happen…he would be the biggest STAR out right now.”

To all of that, we say: What?! Jennings is obviously entitled to his opinion on Chris Brown and Michael Jackson. It’s his Twitter account so he can say whatever the hell he wants. But his argument was weak, at best, and misinformed, at worst. He came across as a guy trying to make people mad in the middle of the night—and he caught a ton of hate as a result of what he wrote.

What do you think about Jennings’ opinion on Chris Brown? Does he make a strong case for him, or do you think he should stop trying to cause controversy on Twitter?
