Daron Dylon Wint, 34, was apprehended late on Thursday night in Washington, DC. Wint is the primary suspect in the May 14 quadruple murder of a wealthy DC family and their housekeeper, which ended in the family’s home being set on fire.

For much of yesterday, Wint was believed to be in Brooklyn, NY, where police were speaking to a woman who claimed to be his girlfriend. But by Thursday, Wint was back in the Maryland/DC area. Police tracked him in a Chevy Cruze following a box truck; the vehicles contained several other people and large amounts of cash. Wint and the others were arrested in Northeast Washington.

Wint is charged with the murder of Savvas Savopoulos, 46, and his wife, son, and housekeeper. Savopoulos was the CEO of a construction materials company; the family lived in a multi-million dollar mansion in the same neighborhood as the official vice presidential residence. Wint allegedly torched to home after keeping the family hostage for a day, torturing them, and extorting $40,000 before killing them and fleeing in their Porche.

The suspect has a long criminal history, and at some point worked for Savopoulos’ company as a certified welder. He was identified by DNA evidence left on a pizza crust at the crime scene. Order history shows a Domino’s pizza was delivered to the home on the 13th.
