VH1 has renewed Basketball Wives: LA for a fifth season due to strong ratings from season four. According to Deadline.con:

“Strong ratings for ‘Basketball Wives: LA’ have propelled the cable network to the No. 1 spot on average in the Sunday 9 PM time period with women 18-34, according to VH1.”

The network has yet to announce which cast members will return to season five, but according to Draya Michele, she won’t be one of them. “Yeah, I’d mentally checked out of it – I’ll never say never. I’ll never go on Basketball Wives again, but I’ll never say never about reality TV,” She told me during my recent interview with her for my entertainment news column, “The SCOOP.” “Depending on what the future brings, there might be a place for reality TV for me. If it has something to do with maybe one of my jobs or something, or you know, I don’t know. Who knows? But never say never – I’ll just say never to Basketball Wives.”

When I asked Draya what made her quit the show midway through season four, she told me, “You know, I just stopped being happy when I was going to work. I just stopped liking being in front of the cameras, and you know, sitting down and eating lunch with people that I didn’t really like, or people that didn’t really like me, or people that I knew I would be fighting and arguing with the very next week. I just didn’t want to do it anymore.”

The Basketball Wives: LA season four reunion special airs Sunday night at 9 pm on VH1.
