Will Ferrell revived his George W. Bush impression and returned to Saturday Night Live to announced that the 43rd president will seek the Republican nomination.

“This is an important day. I’ve made a big decision. I’m entering the race for the President of the United States of America,” Ferrell said during the show’s cold open. “The field of Republicans out there is so messed up, I figured it makes you miss me, doesn’t it? And that’s saying a lot.”

He then listed off several of the candidates, saying Carly Fiorina reminded him of himself because she was total unqualified for the job, and that “Rubio and Cruz” sounds like a Miami personal injury law firm. Ferrell/Bush also mocked Ben Carson‘s public speaking, and Donald Trump‘s “big, fat, orange Oompa Loompa face.”

When it time came to address Jeb(!), he said,  “You gotta admit it’s a pretty good plot twist that I turned out to be the smart one.”

Ferrell’s impression of Bush was essential to shaping public perception of the president. It spawned many sketches, and a Broadway show.
