Was Johnny Manziel Really Spotted Wearing A Wig & Fake Mustache In Las Vegas Over The Weekend?

Johnny Manziel’s 2015-16 NFL season has been…interesting. To say the least. At the start of the year, the thought was that this might finally be the year Manziel puts two and two together and takes over the reigns as the Cleveland Browns’ starting quarterback. Granted, Manziel did start the season on the bench, so maybe the expectations shouldn’t have been quite that high. But Josh McCown was the starter, and it seemed like it would only be a matter of time before Manziel got his chance. That turned out to be the case due to a head injury McCown suffered and, when Manziel took over for McCown, he made the most of his limited opportunity. He didn’t blow the Browns’ coaches away enough to stay on the field once McCown was healthy again, but he looked like he had a future in the league.

Throughout the remainder of the season, Manziel got additional opportunities to play and start, but towards the end of the year, he blew what looked like his last chance to start for the team when he showed up in a viral video that featured him swinging a bottle of champagne around at a bar during the Browns’ bye week. He got sent back to the bench after that. But once again, injuries forced him back into the lineup, and he was set up to finish off the season as the Browns’ starter. That is, until he apparently suffered a concussion in his team’s second-to-last game and was ruled out for the finale. But at the same time, he showed up in yet another viral video which featured him swinging alcohol around. And then, on the night before the Browns’ last game, he was apparently spotted in Las Vegas gambling, drinking, and having a good old time. Oh, and he was reportedly wearing a wig and a fake mustache when he did it, just to make things even more bizarre.

At this point, it’s hard not to laugh at some of the shenanigans that Manziel is involved in. He’s been given chance after chance after chance to succeed, but for whatever reason, he keeps making silly mistakes that prevent people from taking him seriously. Strangely enough, it doesn’t seem like those mistakes are going to impact his NFL career, as despite his missteps this season, he’s probably still going to get another chance to play next season. But Manziel clearly isn’t the highly-touted prospect he once was anymore. Rather, he’s the guy who’s going to become a distraction for some team out there next season by appearing in a viral video or staying out too late or putting on a disguise in Sin City. He’s that guy now, instead of the guy who is going to help lead an NFL franchise to a Super Bowl. It’s probably not what Manziel planned on becoming, but after his “interesting” 2015-16 NFL season, it’s exactly who he is. Nothing more, nothing less.
