Is Lamar Odom Really Thinking About Making An NBA Comeback?

As recently as just two weeks ago, TMZ Sports released a report about how Lamar Odom had, unfortunately, been spotted drinking inside of a bar again. Odom, who very nearly died late last year after a drug overdose at a brothel in Nevada, has reportedly slipped back into some of his bad habits since leaving the hospital earlier this year. And it seems his troubles have gotten so bad that Khloe Kardashian has decided that she’s finished with him. In a lengthy Facebook post that she put up last weekend, Khloe hinted at how she doesn’t have the strength to deal with trying to get Odom back on the right track, especially when he doesn’t seem interested in getting there himself.

During an interview that Odom did at Kobe Bryant’s final NBA game last night—his first interview since his overdose—Odom told Entertainment Tonight a much different story. He said that he’s doing well. He also suggested that he might try and make an NBA comeback sometime in the very near future, and he pointed out that people shouldn’t believe everything they read on sites like TMZ Sports. Odom didn’t really speak at length about the idea of making a comeback, but it was good to finally hear from him, as opposed to simply reading news clips about him that don’t feature any actual quotes from Odom. You can watch his interview here:

We like that Odom is, at the very least, thinking about playing basketball again. But is it realistic to think that he could get back out on the court? He has been away from the game for so long now, and he has put his body through hell. So while he was quick to point out that he’s “still got it,” we seriously doubt that he has enough talent left to play at the high level that would be demanded of him in the NBA. We wouldn’t mind seeing him try to do it, but at this point, we just wouldn’t put too much stock into the idea of him making a serious comeback.

Check out Odom’s interview and then let us know if you think he has a real chance of returning to the NBA.
