Adele Turns Down Super Bowl Halftime Show
Adele will not be performing during halftime of the 2017 Super Bowl.
Reportedly, the National Football League asked the “Hello” singer to headline next year’s halftime show, but Adele revealed it was a no-go over the weekend during a gig in Los Angeles. “First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl,” Adele said. “I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t really – I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I said no.”
If Adele had agreed to perform, the soulful songstress probably would have delivered huge ratings to the NFL during the next halftime show. Her last album, 25, debuted at number one last November in the US where it sold a record-breaking 3.38 million copies in its first week, the largest single sales week for an album since Nielsen began monitoring sales in 1991.
