Nia Long Lands Recurring Role On Empire
Veteran actress Nia Long has been cast in a recurring role on Empire.
The timeless beauty will appear on the current season of the show in the role of Giuliana (Giusi), who may give Cookie (played by Taraji P. Henson) a run for her money. According to Deadline.com:
[Nia] will play Giuliana (Giusi), a queenpin who runs a club in Las Vegas and makes brash moves in the gangster underworld of New York to secure a deal with ‘Empire’. Sleek, sexy, and cold-blooded, she rubs elbows with Lucious (Terrence Howard) and goes toe-to-toe with Cookie even as she reckons with her own mysterious past.
Nia’s most recent foray into television was on the series Uncle Buck, which premiered earlier this year on ABC, but was canceled in July despite respectable ratings. The 46-year-old Brooklyn native will join other bold-faced names as guest stars on this season of Empire such as Mariah Carey, Taye Diggs and French Montana.
