Lamar Odom Inspired To Check Into Rehab By Childhood Friend In Prison For Attempted Murder
Lamar Odom‘s latest attempt to get clean was inspired by a childhood friend of the former NBA star who’s in prison for attempted murder.
Lamar went to go visit William Gregory, who’s serving a 26 year sentence in a Delaware prison, in September. During the face-to-face, the duo chatted about a variety of things, including “Lamar’s divorce from Khloe, the demise of his basketball career and the loneliness of losing his support system,” but one topic in particularly really resonated with Lamar. According to TMZ:
William, who’s apparently discovered religion, went in hard on Lamar about the virtue of redemption, telling him the only way to find that road was to clean himself up.
We’re told the chitchat inspired Lamar, who mulled it over and checked himself into rehab last week, around the time of his deceased son’s birthday.
Lamar’s rehab stint comes a little over a year after his near-fatal drug overdose. Reportedly, the 37-year-old will reportedly star in his own series focusing on his road to recovery.
