Carrie Fisher Will Spend Eternity In a Giant Prozac
The ashes of actress Carrie Fisher will be stored in an urn shaped and decorated like a large Prozac pill.
Fisher’s brother Todd told press that it was his sister’s “favorite possession.”
“I felt it was where she’d want to be,” he said on Friday as he left a joint funeral for both his mother and sister.
The Postcards From The Edge author was open about her struggles with mental health throughout her life. She was diagnosed as bipolar as a young woman, but at first refused to accept it. She later went to rehab, and became a major advocate for publicly embracing mental health issues. Fisher even publicly discussed her success with the still-taboo practice of electroconvulsive therapy.
Fisher died on Dec. 27 at age 60 after going into cardiac arrest on a flight from London to LA several days earlier. Her mother, Hollywood star Debbie Reynolds, died a day later after suffering a stroke.
