Report: Woman Who Killed Kim Jong Un’s Brother Thought She Was On Prank Show
Indonesian police are saying that the women arrested in the death of Kim Jong Un‘s half-brother was tricked into the assault: She believed she was appearing on a hidden camera prank show.
USA Today writes:
[Indonesian national police chief] Tito Karnavian told the Associated Press that Siti Aisyah, 25, received payment to be involved in a prank for Just For Laughs, a popular TV show.
He said she and another woman persuaded men to close their eyes, and then sprayed them with water.
“Such an action was done three or four times and they were given a few dollars for it, and with the last target, Kim Jong Nam, allegedly there were dangerous materials in the sprayer,” Karnavian told the AP. ”She was not aware that it was an assassination attempt by alleged foreign agents.”
Nam claims he fell out of favor with his father, the late North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il, after demanding economic and democratic reforms in the nation, as well as an end to the hereditary dynasty. Un has led the hermetic country since Il’s death in 2011.
